Are You Ready?

Are you ready for today? Tomorrow? Next week? Do you have everything you need? Lots of people are thinking along those lines when asked the question, but what does it mean to be “ready”?

Is it something we visually see? When we travel, we have our suitcases packed with all of the necessities for our trip. We don’t want to have to turn around to come back and get what we forgot.

Is it more about mental preparedness? When we sit down to take a test, we completed our assignments and studied the correct materials. We have to accept the consequences for not being better prepared for what we expected.

Do we really have to be planned and prepared all of the time? Doesn’t being ready also apply to those things we haven’t prepared for ahead of time? Are we ready for the unexpected, the unplanned? We need faith and resilience for those things. We need the ability to be knocked down and ready to get back up. We need the opportunity to make a change and make a difference. We need to admit we are wrong and do what is right.

We can’t be prepared for everything, no matter how much we try. We just need to be ready for what God has planned, willing to take action as needed or quietly accept what has happened. Listen to God and he will give you everything you need!
