Be Prepared

I read this verse and it connected to something I sometimes tell my children. “Prepare for the worst and plan for the best.”

I think of it as being similar to packing an emergency kit for your car. You place all of the possible disaster/emergency items in that kit. You know how to use them, if needed! You learn what to avoid on your journey because you listen to others whom you trust. By being prudent, you follow God’s Word.

By doing so, you can take a deep breath and be worry-free. You know you can plan your best journey yet, and you have faith it will be okay. Why? Because you are prepared to handle whatever may happen. This does not mean you may not run into trouble, but you have your emergency kit ready.

Being prepared does not mean you are in control; it simply means you are keeping your eyes open for evil and if possible, are making plans to avoid it. God is with you wherever you journey. Keep the Bible nearby to help guide your way!
